😳what if we kissed...in front of the 4 ton mass of corium in the basement beneath reactor 4 of the chernobyl nuclear power plant in pryp'yat', ukraine😳
@axakatl and this thing is still eating into the ground and wont deactivate till we are far long dead...
honestly humans should be punished
@Drako_Fenris @axakatl I remember when looking up about this before that the guy in the photo was/is still alive somehow. looking it up again rn he was apparently interviewed in the new york times in 2014. iirc he just kept working going to radioactive sites for long after that photo (cant remember if he was still working at the time of the interview)
@Resni @axakatl he probably didnt have a ton of exposure, im sure the 300 seconds fact is if you stood there, unshielded for that entire amount of time. the first pictures had to be taken with mirrors away from it because even a remote bot fried getting that close to it. so it has weakened but its still eating into the earth, its still active. it will remain so for a very very long time...so really who knows how much more damage it will do
@axakatl We thank you, oh Monolith, for revealing the cunning plans of your enemies to us. May your light shine down on the souls of the brave soldiers who gave their lives in service to your will. Onward, warriors of The Monolith. Avenge your fallen brothers. Blessed, as they are, in their eternal union with The Monolith. Bring death to those who've spurned the holy power of The Monolith. Oh Monolith, we do not hear you. Why have you left us, oh Monolith? We await your orders, oh Monolith.
